The Trough of Bowland is a beautiful valley in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area has plenty of wildlife and lovely picnic areas as well and well organized maps en-route.

Pilling Sands overlooks the River Lune estuary, at the southern end of Morecambe Bay. Wyre-Lune Wildfowl Sanctuary lies on the sandy area off the western end of the beach and there is some interesting bird life.
